Fun Week!

Just a couple quick things I wanted to mention about my sweet Brindley so I don't forget :-). She says the funniest things that just crack me up, the other day she was helping me with dinner and I asked her to grab a spatula and she said "that's not a spatula Mom, (even though she knew exactly what I was talking about) it's called a shovel flip." Can't argue there...you couldn't be more descriptive about it's use.

Today she graduated from Kindergarten, I wasn't sure if we would make it through the year but she did great and is onto first grade.   CONGRATULATIONS BRINDLEY!
Oh yea and the cat we got, she turned out to be the sweetest little thing and was such a perfect cat no joke, even Lance agreed. One MAJOR problem...Brylin turned out to be allergic to it. We waited as long as we could thinking it was just a cold but the Doctor confirmed it, so with much hesitation she was given to a new family today.

The girls cried all afternoon. I guess stating from the beginning it was just a trial didn't matter once it became a reality we were actually going to have to get rid of her.  Here I was just using it for leverage with getting them to cooperate.   The girls had named her "Binkie" and among tears Kallie said today, "I'll never hear the word binkie again without thinking about my sweet precious cat that we'll never ever be able to have again because of Brylin's dumb nose.  Can't we just tell Brylin she isn't to touch it or breath the allergic stuff or can I just keep her locked in my room forever?"  You have to remember she is the dramatic one in the house :-).

What a week!

Bare with me for those of you who read my blog. I decided I need to use it more of a journal since I am not good at keeping track of the events in our family. Last week was such a headache I thought I needed to jot it all down. Although it may sound drab and depressing I actually look at it and laugh that it all could be worse. We could be jobless along with a million other things right :-).

We started off Monday with Lance heading off to work again for his first day at his new job! YEA!! Although it was way past due I have to admit I had that brief though of "how am I supposed to do all this stuff alone," after all I have gotten used to Lance being home to fill in the gaps of Motherhood. Brylin woke up soon after with pink eye...YUCK! This was the first time we have ever gotten it and hopefully the last. I was so paranoid of everyone else getting it including myself I washed my hands to the point of being raw. Kallie also stayed home on Monday with an annoying cough which I although she didn't seem sick other than that knew she would be sent home by the nurse for distracting the class (which has happened twice this year). A Dr. visit and eye drops to accompany our day.

Then Tuesday Kallie woke up complaining of her ear hurting, a doctors appointment confirmed that she had an ear infection. So now she is on antibiotics and home for the next day. She accompanied me to some training for my work while Brylin was at preschool. Call me paranoid but I made her wear a mask. I didn't want to get anyone sick as we all work out of our homes and they were moving that weekend. She did great though and actually thought it was cool. Good thing she is only 7!

Wednesday Kallie stayed home again to rest. Thursday everyone was at school. Friday Kallie woke up with the goopie eye, Brin had a follow up doctors appointment in downtown phoenix so lucky me I got to take all three girls with me to battle there just to come back home and take Kallie another doctor's appointment to treat her pink eye. I tried and tried to convince the nurse to just call in drops but luckily they insisted on seeing her because Kallie's cold/cough had turned into Bronchitis! WHAT! So she is now on 2 different antibiotics with breathing treatments. I am tempted not only to do a disinfecting bomb in our house after last week but schedule a standing appointment with the doctors office. It's bad when you walk in the door and they know how your whole week has gone.

Brindley finished out the week getting pink eye missing a Hannah Montana birthday party she had been anticipating for 2 months, with one of her soccer buddies.

Oh and did I fail to mention we adopted a kitten on Saturday. I don't know what we are thinking but I keep telling the girls IT'S JUST A TRIAL. That way if I get buyers remorse they are forewarned. So far so good our big concern is the dog and his reaction. So far they are afraid of eachother and stear clear of one another. Time will tell.

Ho hum one week down it can only get better from here, hopefully :-)

WORK AT LAST!

Although I am grateful for all the side jobs Lance has found while he looked for that "real" job to bring in money, I must say I am so glad that the wait is finally over! Now we can get back to the consistent paycheck and routine and let's not forget those benefits!

Lance accepted a job offer this week and starts on Monday. NO moving to Cali after all, at least for now :-) He starts on Monday and it's even closer to us so the drive won't be that bad (Tempe). YEA!!

Not only that but I have been working from home and have been asked to help out more with their company. Turns out I actually have some good skills (for all you Napoleon Dynamite fans). We'll see how this stay at home Mom / working at home thing goes but the extra money will be nice. Let's just hope I can learn to juggle things!

Brylin has been begging me to put a video of "just her" singing on the computer for months now and I have yet to do it. So here it is, promise fulfilled.

WHAT A DAY!

Oh man what a day, I almost wish I hadn't gotten out of bed today. My day started with a phone call at 6:45 from my hubby letting me know that he had gotten that dreaded call from his boss that he was being laid off. We knew it was coming I mean how many layoffs could we survive in the Homebuilding industry....it was only a matter of time. If anyone has any leads for Lance send them our way :-). I am just glad they paid for school!

Kallie got two more teeth pulled to make room for the permanent one's that decided to come in before the baby teeth had fallen out. Then we went and ordered new glasses for Brin, bad timing what what do we do tell our 5 year old that can barely see too bad. Besides I am going to make the most of our 2 weeks of benefits! Let's cram in as many appointments as we can I'm up for it!

Off to cook and clean, lucky me anyone got any simple dinner ideas??
